Reordering survey questions allows you to rearrange the sequence of questions in your survey. This helps you improve the flow, structure, and respondent experience.

Sometimes after building a survey, you may realize that the question order does not feel natural and there are certain questions that must apperar before others. You might also be working from a template where the default question order does not match your intended structure. Reordering allows you to adjust the survey to better suit your needs.

A well-structured survey improves completion rates and makes it easier for respondents to follow.

Step 1: Open the Survey

Go to your dashboard and select the survey you want to edit.

Click Edit to open the Survey Builder.

Step 2: Locate the Drag Handle

In the Survey Builder, you will see all your survey questions listed.

On the left-hand side of each question, you will see a six-dotted drag handle.

Step 3: Drag and Reorder

Click and hold the six-dotted handle.

Drag the question up or down to your preferred position.

Release the mouse when the question is in the desired location.

The question order will automatically update.

Reordering questions can break existing logic flows or cause them to behave differently than intended. If your survey includes piping or branch logic, review and test your logic settings after reordering questions to ensure everything works correctly.

Once reordered, the new sequence will immediately reflect in the survey preview and in the respondent experience.

Your survey will now follow the updated structure.
